North Fulton Forsyth Touchdown Club Honors October’s Best

The North Fulton Forsyth Touchdown Club recently honored the Offensive and Defensive “Players of the Week” for the weeks five through eight of the season. The dinner, provided by Stars and Strikes, was held at the Theater at North Point Community Church. Award winning broadcaster, Sam Crenshaw, was the emcee for the evening’s festivities and Harper LeBel, former NFL player, was the special guest speaker.

Each NFFTD Club member school’s team Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game were recognized. The “Players of the Week” award winners were selected for their outstanding accomplishments on the gridiron from coach nominated players.

Week 5

Offensive Player of the Week – Tyler LaFlamme, a Senior Running Back from South Forsyth High School, had 33 carries for 433 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 42-34 win over Chattahoochee.

Defensive Player of the Week – Robbie Repasz from Forsyth Central High School, a Junior Safety, had 9 tackles, 1interception, 1 caused fumble, a recovered a fumble for a touchdown, a 76 yard punt return for a touchdown, and a 96 yard kick-off return for a touchdown in a 41-13 victory over previously undefeated Riverwood.

Week 6

Offensive Player of the Week – Tyler Matheson from Fellowship Christian, a Junior Fullback, had 18 carries, 118 yards, and 5 touchdowns in a 47-28 victory over rival King’s Ridge.

Defensive Player of the Week – Max Miller from Mount Pisgah Christian School,

a Sophomore Linebacker, had 13 tackles and 1 interception returned for a touchdown to help Patriots beat previously undefeated 10th ranked St. Francis 39-20.

Week 7

Offensive Player of the Week – Sheldon Evans, a Sophomore Running Back from Roswell High School, paved the way to victory against Pope with 242 yards rushing on 26 carries and 4 touchdowns.

Defensive Player of the Week – Sean Hoffman, a Senior Running Back from Chattahoochee High School, had 10 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 pass break up, and 1 caused fumble in a 29-19 win over rival Johns Creek.

Week 8

Offensive Player of the Week – Rustin Suter, a Senior Wide Receiver from Alpharetta High School, had 3 receptions for 99 yards a 1 touchdown and threw a 32 yard touchdown pass for a 56-7 victory over Chattahoochee.

Defensive Player of the Week – Michael Collins, a Senior Defensive Lineman from Milton High School, had 5 tackles, 3 assists, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 4 hurries, and 1 pass break up for a big 20-17 region win over Walton.

The next NFFTD Club dinner will be held on November 17, 2014 at the Theater at North Point Community Church. Doors open at 6:45 pm and the program begins at 7:30 pm. The public is invited to attend. December events include the Year-End Banquet on December 18th and the Chamber Bowl Senior All-Star Game on December 20th at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School.
