North Edges South in Chamber Bowl

The North Georgia Touchdown Club’s 2016 Chamber Bowl Senior All-Star Game was held on December 17th at Mount Pisgah Christian School.

All-Star Head Coaches were Mike Forester for the South (Head Coach Mount Pisgah Christian School) and Frank Hepler for the North (Head Coach Forsyth Central High School). Players came from North Fulton and Forsyth public and private high schools to compete on North and South Teams.

The game, a defensive thriller, was 0-0 at the end of the final quarter. With three minutes left in the game, the South forced a turnover and scored. The North team answered, with 35 seconds on the clock, by scoring a touchdown and passed the ball for a two point conversion to end the game with a score of 8-7.

Fans joined players on the field for the Players of the Game and trophy presentations. The Offensive Player of the Game was Quarterback Reid Martin, Cambridge High School. The Defensive Player of the Game was Linebacker Jacob Ward, Forsyth Central High School. Coach Hepler accepted the trophy for the North team surrounded by his exuberant players.

All-Star activities leading up to the game included a “Meet the Team” Day sponsored by Stars and Strikes and a pre-game breakfast sponsored by 3 Brothers BBQ. Emory Sports Medicine provided the physicians and trainers for the game.
