After enjoyed that fantastic meal and camping out all night at the mall, why wrap up the Thanksgiving weekend by enjoying some high school hoops for a great cause. The Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School will be the place for the first annual Holiday Hoopsgiving Tournament, November 28-29.
The tournament will feature some of the top high school boys and girls basketball programs from Metro Atlanta and beyond, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the Play For Orange Foundation, that supports cancer research.
The Holy Innocents’ boys will welcome a tournament field that includes boys teams from Stephenson, Douglas County, North Cobb Christian,Jenkins from Savannah, High Point Christian from North Carolina and Wasatch Academy from Utah.
The Holy Innocents’ girls will host a field that includes Miller Grove, Clarke Central, Berkmar, Lower Richland from South Carolina and Lee from Alabama.
The event benefits and brings awareness to the doctors of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the non-profit Play For Orange.
Players not only participate in the tournament, but they and their coaches also volunteer with the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, bringing gifts to sick children who may not be able to follow their dreams of being involved in sports. Their impact will be felt long after the tournament ends. From the lives touched, to the players and coaches who will be watched by thousands, this is a one of a kind event.
