XL212, a sports event and marketing service, presents the Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Senior All-Star Classic Games at Lambert High School on March 14, 2015. The Girls’ game is at 5:30 pm and the Boys’ game is at 7:30 pm. North Fulton and Forsyth public and private school Seniors, representing their school in one final opportunity to shine on the court, will compete on North and South teams.
Head Coaches for the boys’ game are Pete Goggin, Head Coach of Johns Creek High School, and Ty Phillips, Head Coach of Roswell High School. Coach Goggin will lead the North Team and Coach Phillips will lead the South Team.

XL212 Basketball Classic Senior All-Star Game Boys’ North Team Head Coach
Coach Pete Goggin is in his 19th year of teaching and his 18th year of coaching basketball. He started his career as the Freshman coach at Centennial High School when it opened in 1997. Over the course of 7 years at Centennial, he has was Head JV and then the Varsity Assistant coach. From there his teaching job took him to Forsyth County where he coached the boys 7th and 8th grade teams at Liberty Middle School and Riverwatch Middle schools, leading them both to County Championship games.
Coach Goggin went to Alpharetta High School as the Assistant Varsity coach at Alpharetta High School, a position he had for two years before taking over the head coaching duties. When Johns Creek opened in 2009, he was hired to start the Boys’ program. Johns Creek has improved every year under his leadership and continues to improve. He led the team to their first ever state playoff appearance in 2013 -2014, and in the 2014 – 2015 season, the Johns Creek Gladiators had their best season yet and boasted a winning record.
Ty Phillips, Head Coach Roswell High School

Coach Phillips is in his 17th year teaching Social Studies in secondary education. Before joining the Roswell family in 2007, he spent the previous three years at North Springs High School in Fulton County and six years at Harrison High School in Cobb County. An Atlanta native and Lakeside High School graduate, Coach Phillips attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina on a full basketball scholarship. Coach Phillips holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from Presbyterian College. He also holds a Masters of Education and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership & Administration from the University of West Georgia.
In addition to teaching and coaching, Coach Phillips brought the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) program to Roswell in 2011. SALT is an initiative of the IDEALS leadership organization in which coaches nominate student-athletes for SALT leadership training. Roswell High School is currently the only SALT participant in Fulton County.
Coach Phillips is married to the former Jennifer Lathem, a native of Canton, Georgia, who teaches high school mathematics. The couple has an eight year old daughter, Palmer, and a five year old son, Trey.
Head Coaches for the girls’ game are Deb Schaefer, Head Coach of Milton High School, and Tony Manning, Head Coach of Riverwood Charter International High School. Coach Schaefer will lead the North Team and Coach Manning will lead the South Team.

Coach Schaefer is originally from Chicago, Illinois, but spent most of her early years growing up in Perrysburg, Ohio. For college, she attended the University of Kentucky.
Schaefer coached two years at Meadowcreek High School before joining Milton High School, where she has been on faculty for 17 years. She is a multi-sport coach. She is the current head of the basketball program, and has coached boys’ basketball for 2 years and girls’ basketball for 13 years. Additionally, Schaefer has coached varsity volleyball for 17 years. When she is off the court, Coach Schaefer teaches Chemistry and Health.
Tony Manning, Head Coach of Riverwood Charter International High School
XL212 All-Star Classic Basketball Game Girls’ South Team Head Coach
Coach Manning is in his twelfth year of teaching and coaching basketball. Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Manning attended Pittsburgh State University where he played basketball and majored in K-12 Health & Physical Education. He received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Strayer University.
Early in his career, Manning was an Assistant Coach for the Southern Crescent Lightning, a WBA professional basketball team under Coach Litterial Green. He later coached at McIntosh and Sandy Creek High Schools, as well as for Georgia Gwinnett College, prior to joining the faculty at Riverwood Charter International High School.
Coach Manning is a Military Veteran, having served in the US Air Force for 12 years. He and his wife, Shena, have been married for 24 year and have four children.
